The short version
Cadence reads your group chats so it can remember things for you. Your data stays between you and your groups. We don't sell it, we don't use it for ads, and we don't train AI models on it. You can see everything Cadence knows about you and delete it all at any time.
What Cadence collects
When you use Cadence, we store:
- Group chat messages — every message in group chats Cadence has been added to. This is how recall works.
- Extracted knowledge — structured information pulled from messages: plans, recommendations, decisions, questions, facts, and action items.
- DM history — your private conversation with Cadence.
- Personal memory — things you explicitly ask Cadence to remember.
- Profile data — your phone number, which groups you're in, and your usage tier.
What Cadence does not do
- Sell your data. Not to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. Ever.
- Use your conversations for advertising. Cadence is funded by subscriptions, not ads.
- Train AI models on your data. Your messages are processed to generate responses, not to improve or train models.
- Share data between groups. What's said in one group chat never leaks to another. Cross-group information is only available in your private DMs with Cadence.
- Share your private data with other users. Your DMs, personal memory, and profile are visible only to you.
How your data is protected
- Encrypted in transit. All data moving between your device, our servers, and third-party services is encrypted using TLS.
- Encrypted at rest. Stored data is encrypted on our servers.
- Isolated storage. Each user's data is stored separately, walled off from other users.
- Group isolation. Each group's data is stored independently. The system enforces access boundaries — Cadence only surfaces group data to members of that group.
Your controls
You're in control of what Cadence knows about you.
- See what Cadence knows. Text “what do you know about me?” and Cadence will tell you everything it has — your personal memory, your groups, and what it's extracted.
- Delete everything. Email support@textcadence.xyz to request data deletion. The team will remove your DM history, personal memory, profile, and your contributions to group knowledge.
- Remove from a group. Remove Cadence from any group chat at any time. Knowledge already extracted stays (the group chose to add Cadence), but Cadence stops reading new messages.
Third-party services
Cadence uses the following services to operate:
- Anthropic (Claude) — processes messages to generate responses and extract knowledge. Messages are sent to their API for processing but are not used to train their models under our agreement.
- Sendblue — handles iMessage connectivity. Messages pass through their infrastructure to reach Cadence.
- Railway — hosts the Cadence service and stores data.
Each of these services has their own privacy policies. We select partners that meet our standards for data protection.
Questions
If you have questions about how Cadence handles your data, just text us. Seriously — text the same number you use for Cadence and ask.
